The Life Saving Awards Research Society was formed in 1987. Its principal objective is to provide information to researchers interested in medals and decorations awarded to civilians and service men and women for bravery and gallantry in life saving.
To help achieve our objective, the Society publishes its Journal three times a year. The Journal has articles on life saving awards, both official and those given by private organisations, and the incidents that resulted in those awards. All of the Journals (except the most recent editions) are freely available to download from the website and these provide a significant research archive.
To further the opportunities for research, we have a 'Research' page which identifies many of the organisation's that give (or have given) awards for life saving.
The most popular section on the website is the ‘Medal Rolls’ page where a number of listings can be found. These are fully searchable by name and date of recipient. We have for some time had a listing of RHS bronze medals and we are actively adding additional medal rolls as they become available.
Membership of the Society is open to everyone and we welcome applications
